Houston Wedding Photographer

Houston wedding photographer, Michael Carr Photography, recently photographed Becca & Christian’s wedding and reception. The ceremony was held at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, and their reception was held at a private residence.

Originally the couple was to have their reception at the Omni. Well, this summer hurricane Harvey hit Houston and due to the Omni flooding, the couple had to decide on a new venue for their reception. Ann Whittington helped transform their ballroom reception into a stunning tent reception at a private residence. The reception became a one of a kind, unique ballroom. With the floral and décor talented team from Plants n Petals, the tent was adorned with marble walls, floral décor on the ceiling, chandeliers, and even a flower floor entryway to welcome guests. The guests enjoyed a seated dinner, and danced the night away with the fun band from Atlanta: Party on the Moon. The cakes were made by Susie’s Cakes. At the end of the evening, fireworks & guests sent the couple off for their honeymoon.

Houston Wedding Photographers – Michael Carr Photography

Houston Wedding Photographers, Michael Carr Photography, recently photographed this Rehearsal Dinner for a wonderful couple. We also photographed their wedding, which will be highlighted in a separate post. Their rehearsal dinner was held at The St. Regis Houston. Their rehearsal dinner theme was a Renaissance Union, and coordinated by Ann Whittington. This theme was carried through all the details and décor for their intimate rehearsal dinner. Guests were welcomed into the dinner with door greeters in Renaissance attire and dialect. They also had an incredible cake that looked like a castle, with a water mote surrounding the castle. Susie’s Cakes did a wonderful job with this cake, and it looked so real! In the cocktail area, guests could write well wishes to the couple on coins with the couples monogram, and toss the coins in a wishing well. A Renaissance quartet provided wonderful background music during the cocktail reception. The St. Regis ballroom was decorated with the same theme and pulled together with candles and beautiful florals by Plants n Petals.

Houston wedding photographers, Michael and Lisa Carr, recently photographed Emily & Will’s wedding. This is a fun couple and we enjoyed capturing their wedding. The ceremony was at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, followed by an intimate reception at The Houstonian. Ann Whittington did an amazing job with the planning and details of their wedding. Façade Uptown did an outstanding job with her makeup. Plants n Petals helped with florals and décor. The couple had a one of a kind monogram dance floor, which set the stage for their first dance. The guests enjoyed dancing the evening away before the couple’s departure. Congrats Emily & Will, here is a sneak peek of images from your wedding.

Houston Studio Bridal Portraits

Houston Bridal Portrait Photographer, Michael Carr (CPP), captured this contemporary bridal portrait in his Houston commercial portrait studio. The objective of the bridal portrait session was to capture a mixture of full length, three quarter length poses and seated poses for the bride’s portrait collection. During the capture phase of the seated poses, Michael’s creative eye saw this pose as a black & white portrait. After adjusting the studio lighting for more of a dramatic effect, this scene was created and a stunning contemporary black & white bridal portrait was captured.

Some of the advantages of having your portrait in studio versus outdoors is that you do not need to contend with rainy weather or humidity. Both Houston weather challenges typically produce windy or frizzy hair; not to mention makeup adjustments for perspiration. Our Houston studio is also equipped with a luxurious changing room so you can easily change into your wedding gown with indoor comfort.

Michael Carr Photography is a full service portrait studio specializing in timeless and contemporary portraiture. The studio is conveniently located in a professional commercial building close to the Houston Galleria, and the Memorial area. Our full service studio helps you with every aspect for your portrait session. We provide clothing consultations and pre-planning for your portrait to help create a beautiful heirloom final wall art piece for your home. We also guide you during your order appointment to help you select the correct portrait and size the portrait proportionally for the area in your home it will reside. Studio Buzz: Featured in Inside Weddings

Congratulations to Lynette and Rowdy on their wedding celebration. Their wedding was selected to be featured within a national publication: Inside Weddings.

We met Lynette when we photographed her sister’s wedding a few years earlier. It was great to work with this family again and capture many beautiful moments for them.

Lynette and her Mom worked closely with their event planner, Ann Whittington, to pull all the vendors and details together. The challenge for all the vendors was to make Lynette’s wedding look different than her sister’s wedding, even though they were using the same venue and some of the same vendors as they did for her sister’s wedding. You can read all about the details of Lynette and Rowdy’s wedding in the current issue of Inside Weddings.

To the family, Thank you for entrusting us with the photography of your daughter’s Bridal Portraits and Wedding. To learn more about our portrait and wedding photography services, please visit our site here or call the studio at 713-461-2862 to schedule a personal consultation.
